We all know that we need to grow our economy, and Sean has been working to do just that. As the founder and president of Hudson River Ventures – a small business investment fund – Sean has partnered with more than a dozen small businesses in our region to help them succeed and create jobs. In Congress, Sean will fight for commonsense solutions in Congress that will create jobs and spur economic growth by investing in infrastructure, expanding access to high-speed internet, reforming our broken tax code, and training workers for the new economy.
Right now the voices of everyday New Yorkers are being drowned out by special interests and corporate money in Washington. Sean has been a leader in the fight to reduce the power of special interests and money in politics to ensure that elected officials are accountable to us – not Big Oil and Big Banks. Sean is not accepting corporate PAC contributions in his campaign, so he’ll be accountable only to families in our region. In Congress, Sean will fight to overturn Citizens United and for campaign finance reform that increases transparency, reduces corruption, and amplifies the voices of everyday New Yorkers.

In Congress, Sean will strengthen our schools by working to expand early childhood education, reform high-stakes testing, and ensure that our students are trained for the new economy.
Our nation’s current agricultural policies are built for large, corporate farms, not New York’s family farms. Sean will work to reform farm policy to better serve our region’s farmers by strengthening crop insurance, conserving farmland, ensuring access to credit, and expanding training and support for the next generation of farmers.
Sean will fight to protect the critical safety net in our country and the benefits our seniors have earned. He will oppose cuts to Medicare and Social Security and will work to ensure the sustainability of these vital programs for generations to come, which is why he’s been endorsed by the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.

He will work to fix and improve our nation’s health care laws in order to lower costs, hold insurance companies accountable, reduce the burden on small businesses, and ensure that affordable health care is available to every family.
Sean believes we must honor our commitments to those who have served our country. As a small business investor, Sean has helped grow veteran-owned businesses in our region. As a member of Congress, he will fight to ensure veterans have access to job training, employment support, and quality health care.
Sean was a leader in the fight for marriage equality in New York State and the successful effort to repeal federal discrimination against same-sex couples and their families. In Congress, Sean will continue to protect our Constitution, our freedoms, and our right to privacy. He will work to ensure that every American receives equal protection under the law and that no one is fired from a job or denied housing because of who they are or who they love.
Middle-class families and small businesses in New York are burdened by an array of taxes.
